Puttaparthi is a small village in Southern India in the state of Andra Pradesh. It is a 3.5 hour drive from Bangalore and a 6 hour drive from Hyderabad. Puttparthi is the home of a great saint, Sathya Sai Baba. He is revered the world over for his teachings, his guidance, and his selfless service and love. Sai Baba’s main Ashram is in Puttaparthi and he resides there 9 months out of the year.

Based on the growing fame and following of Sathya Sai Baba Puttaparhti has grown to a large city. During some celebrations there are close to a million visitors. Puttparthi has a WORLD renowned and ultra modern Super Specialty hospital focusing on heart and other complex surgeries where all the procedures are done free of charge for the benefit of the poor. Sai Baba coordinates and oversaw the creation of this hospital. Puttparthi also has an international airport, an extraordinary fact for a town of this size.
